From Really Heavy to Really Light

You guessed it!  The inclined plane.

Picture a piece of wood.  That would be called a plane.  Leave it just on the floor and it's called a floor.  That is not an inclined plane.  If you raise one end up and leave the other end on the floor it's called a slide and it's also called a piece of wood that's lifted up.  That is an inclined plane.  If it's straight up and down then it's called a wall.  A wall is not an inclined plane.

An inclined plane is a piece of wood that's on an angle.  Not a zero degrees angle.  Not a 360 degrees angle and not a 90 degrees angle.

If you are using an inclined plane to lift stuff up and down it will weigh less than if you are picking it up with your hands.  The longer the inclined plane the less the stuff weighs.

There was a little bug flying and it got trapped!

You guessed it!  Venus Fly Trap

Venus Fly Traps are amazing critter-eating plants.  They actually help spiders on their duty patrol.  And help with air patrol.  Every plant helps with air patrol but we're just talking about the Venus Fly Trap for now.  The only way that a bug can get snapped by the Venus Fly Trap is if it touches the soft jaws.  If something touches the soft jaws, including humans, it could die.

Rosy Rose

Bristle Bristle Bristle Bristle
Thorn Thorn Thorn Thorn
You guessed it, the Rose!

The Rose is a flower with lots of prickles and points.  Roses can decompose as well as other flowers, bananas, and also trees.  All of those things can decompose and lots of other things too.  Roses are red and that's how I think the Rosy cheeks got their name.  Get it?  Rosy?

Next flower will be the Venus Flytrap

Flower Fun

Make a wish
Hold it tight
hhhhaaaaaaaaaaaaa  hhhhhhhhhhhoooooooooooooo

You guessed it, Dandelion!  When the Dandelion flower dies that's the kind of flower that you make a wish off.  The Dandelion seeds fall off and in turn make new Dandelions.  The more wishes you make out of Dandelions the more Dandelions there will be.

Next flower will be the Rose.

Final sense: the hearing

Sense number five.  Final Sense!

Here's the message about it:

Everything travels in waves.  Waves can bounce off of things and that's how echoes are made.  But if the sound-waves don't go into your ear then you don't hear them.  Sound waves travel in pitch.  High sounds are like bells and dog whistles.  Medium pitch sounds are the sounds of your voice.  Low pitch sounds are sounds like when you bang a drum, da dum dum ding!  But the only one of those that are low pitched is the second "dum."

To find more about the blog check in kind of an instant, there might be some new information.

Sugar is sweet but lemon is sour

Sense number four, taste.

Your tongue is divided into six different parts, although there are four different tastes. The tip of your tongue tastes the sour stuff like lemon.  The sides of your tongue taste salty stuff like salt.  The back of your tongue controls the sweet and bitter: sweet on left side, bitter on right.  Sweet like sugar and for me buttermilk is better.  The middle of your tongue has no taste-buds.

The next flash website page thing-a-madoodle will be on the blog tomoooooorrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrow.

There's nothing funny about banging your funny bone

Touch? Touch?  Did anybody say anything about touch?  Oh that's right, touch is sense number three.

And here's the message:
Have you noticed when you bang your funny bone (which is your elbow in case you don't know) well anyway, if you bang it, have you noticed that the pain rides all the way up to your middle and ring fingers?  That's because of nerves.  Nerves take messages to the brain and throughout the body about all senses, sight, touch, taste, hearing and smell.

The next message will be online when I'm finished eating dinner.
